SMBM is one of the leading industrial grade barite producers in Morocco. Our company has been producing and sourcing barite that meets international standards for the oil-gas drilling industry, for construction in heavyweight concrete, paint and coatings.
What we do
PROSPECTING
Prospecting and drilling works are carried out by teams with over 20years experience in this field. As a junior mining company we are focused on field search and geological exploration, with our experienced teams in the Moroccan geological context, we can develop strategic partnership with our clients.
PROCESSING
The new facility in Ouarzazate region has been pushing great production volumes since 2017 we are crushing and grinding up to 5.000 MT per month of barite and are developing new processing plant to increase concentrate ore production.
SOURCING
Barite ore is sourced directly from our deposits in Morocco, then we process the raw ore in our facility using different crushing stages and separation processes to reach high grades. A wide range of barite can be produced from 4.00 to 4.30 gr/cm3 specific gravity.
QUALITY INSPECTING
Implementing industry standards and deep testing before shipment in our laboratory and also with third party laboratories (SGS type certificates) guarantee full control over the production process.

Our Products
Barite grades’ range
We are mining high quality barites used as a weightening agents in drilling operations, we also supply barites for many other industrial applications such as coating , painting, construction and medical field. Sourcing quality barite for each end user is our mission.
SG 4.00 gr/cm3
The 4.0 SG graded Barite Lumps consists of 60 – 70% BaSo4 concentration with a minimum specific gravity 4.0 gr/cm3.
SG 4.10 gr/cm3
This grade of Barite Lumps, can also be jigged for a size of 10mm. It consists of a minimum 80 – 90% BaSo4 concentration with a minimum specific gravity of 4.10 gr/cm3.
SG 4.20 gr/cm3
SMBM sources 4.20 SG graded Barite Lumps . The purity can be expected with a minimum of 90% BaSo4 concentration having a specific gravity of minimum 4.20 gr/cm3. This quality can also be jigged

The increasing demand on commodity such as copper, lead us to divesify our assets portfolio to new base metals: Copper and Lead Ore. SMBM has aqcuired three mining licences in the Kingdom of Morocco, the first field prospections and geological mapping has returned great results on surface explorations and trenching .
